GlaxoSmithKline Introduces Patient
Support Cards for People Taking Lexiva

GlaxoSmithKline has announced a patient savings program for people using Lexiva.

Eligible patients will get a Patient Support Card from their doctor along with their Lexiva prescription. Patient Support Cards cover out-of-pocket expenses of up to $50 for each use. They may be activated at your pharmacy any time between November 27, 2006 and December 31, 2007. The cards are valid for 24 months following activation.

You may be eligible for the program if you are paying for your prescriptions with cash or if you have an out-of-pocket co-pay. You are not eligible if your prescriptions are paid for by Medicaid, Medicare, ADAP or any other Federal or State assistance program. Massachusetts residents are eligible only if their prescription for Lexiva is not covered by any insurance or assistance program.

"This program is designed to save patients money and improve compliance and adherence," says GSK's Michael Joyner. "Some patients don't fill all their prescriptions, which can lead to problems with drug resistance."

If you have questions about the program, ask your physician. If your physician is unaware of it, ask them to contact their GSK rep.

A special line has been set up to answer questions about the program from pharmacists: 1-800-364-4767.
